Le 1er skieur déclenche une petite plaque de 5mx5m peu après s'être engagé dans la pente. Il crie alors pour demander aux 4 autres skieurs du groupe de ne pas passer par là. Malheureusement, l'un d'eux part quand même et déclenche à son tour une avalanche beaucoup plus grosse, qui les emporte tous les deux.Mike raconte comment il a espéré s'échapper, puis a heurté un rocher, puis perdu ses skis, puis tapé encore...Lire son récit (en anglais) en attendant des informations complémentaires.Attention : 2 avalanches le même jour impliquant des skieurs très professionnels. Le piège est là. On en serait presque à redouter les prochaines chutes de neige... si elles arrivent.

Avalanche characteristics

Break: thickness 10 cm, max 30 cm, length 10 m. 2450 m. A 30 m wide steep (30 degres) grass gully with low sides to ridges with trees and Bushes. Large accumulation of fresh snow to skiers right lower down. Big soft slabs cracking into smaller.Nar row section of the lower part of the gully, steep bottom section (40 degrees) with Rocks and trees, below this a flat big ledge with some trees of different sizes. 2250 m. Upper section is a big ledge with some trees of different s izes. Middle section is Rocky and with a drop of ca 6-8 mLower section is a 25 degree slope in the thin forest.The debris was very small blocks (diameter 10-20cm) of soft snow,
